What is Animal Shelter?
An establishment, maintained by local government or supported by charitable contributions, provides a temporary home for dogs, cats, and other animals offered for adoption and put to sleep homeless animals deemed unsuitable for adoption.
As of now 2023, there is a total of 20 animal shelters in Singapore.
Shelter for Cats:

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is a non-governmental, registered animal welfare charity with *IPC status. Their motto "BE KIND TO ANIMAL" hope to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals, through education, advocacy, and action. They hope that all animals in Singapore will be treated with compassion and respect
They offer
-24/7 emergency animal rescues,
-an adoptions program that offers some schemes,
-lost and founds services for pets and etc.
An animal lover can also adopt their very own pets from the shelter. The shelter is not only limited to cats and dogs but to other animals such as rabbits, chinchillas, etc. You can check their adoption fee from their website. Do take note you will have to book an appointment for adoption!

Kitten Sanctuary Singapore (KiSS)

Kitten Sanctuary Singapore (KiSS) is a registered non-profit Animal Welfare Group run entirely by volunteers. Their aim is to educate and advocate for lifelong adoption, tolerance, and compassion.
Kitten Sanctuary Singapore(Kiss) or better known as "The Cat Museum" is a place where all the furbabies are there waiting to be adopted by cat lover people. Not only it is a place for first-time cat owners to adopt their very own loving furbaby, but it is also welcome to all cat-lover visitors to come and play with the little ones!
Additionally, this shelter welcomes any optimistic, caring individual to come and volunteer at the shelter regardless of whether you have the skill or not. But here is a catch if you want to volunteer, don't worry, it only two conditions:
You have to be 21 years and above
Able to commit to a regular schedule.

Animal Lovers League (ALL)
Animal Lovers League is a registered charity that runs the largest “NO KILL” shelter in Singapore. Over 500 abandoned, traumatized, abused, and rescued doggies and kitties call the shelter their home. They aim to have more people adopt animals rather than buy them to allow those animals to have a second chance at a loving family.
18 years and above are welcome to register to volunteer at the shelter!
Adoption fee: Free (but does not offer any services such as vaccination, health checkup, etc.)

Causes for Animals Singapore (CAS)
Causes for Animals (Singapore) Limited is an animal welfare charity set up to support the needs of local animal welfare in Singapore. They employ programs and policies to promote best practices and ethical, sustainable, and compassionate treatment of these animals.
The CAS team has over 30 years of combined experience in Animal Welfare Work.
Their lifelong mission is to save the lives of the homeless and unwanted companion animals of Singapore. This shelter allows people to adopt their very own dogs or cats! Preferable for dogs as they offer more schemes.
Do take note you will have to book an appointment with them if you want to visit.
Adoption fee: $100-$250
Fee includes: Sterilisation, Microchipping, Vaccination, De-worming, Flea and tick treatment
Offer socialization and obedience classes
Additional adoption pack: $150 (Includes basic necessities such as food, toys, shampoo and etc.)

Acres Wildlife Rescue Centre
ACRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society), is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character (IPC), founded by Singaporeans in 2001.
The shelter helps to foster respect and compassion for animals by educating people on animal abuse and being environment-friendly.
ACRES aims to collaborate and have a sustainable animal protection movement in Asia where animals are treated as sentient beings.
